Carved Chinese Soapstone Figural Table Lamp

This Carved Chinese Soapstone Figural Table Lamp features a finely rendered figure carved in pale stone, standing gracefully above a richly decorated metal base. The figure's flowing robes and serene expression are carefully modeled, with subtle variations in tone and translucency that highlight the natural qualities of the soapstone. Below, the dark metal base is embellished with dense relief decoration and warm gilt accents, creating a strong visual foundation that contrasts with the lighter sculptural form above. The composition integrates sculpture and form in a way that emphasizes verticality and detail, resulting in a piece that serves as both an ornamental object and a distinctive lighting element.
